Wastelands to Wonderlands: make a botanical sketchbook

28 May 2022
Time: 10.00am - 3.00pm

Make a sketchbook and discover the amazing world of plants!

Do you like drawing, painting and making things? Drop into Kresen Kernow and join artist Vicki Aimers for a free fun family workshop to make a simple sketchbook. Workshops will run from 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm, and no booking is required.

Once you’ve made your sketchbook, why not stay to have a go at some botanical inspired drawings to fill your book with the wonders of plants? At this event, we will explore the natural world by using magnifying glasses to see the beauty of plants, and recording our findings in our new handmade sketchbooks!

Artist Vicki Aimers is in residence at Kresen Kernow from Saturday 28 May to Wednesday 1 June. Her residency is inspired by Catherine Payton Phillips, a Quaker and resident of Redruth in the late 1700s, who loved the natural world and had a keen interest in botany and natural medicines.
