John Couch Adams: a Cornish Spaceman

We’re celebrating John Couch Adams, who was born 200 years ago. A humble man, John’s incredible talent for maths nearly resulted in the discovery of Neptune.

Explore more in our online gallery, and you can watch our animation here.

We’ve also worked with The Writers’ Block to develop a creative writing activity inspired by John’s story which you can watch by clicking this link.
