Line drawing referencing a theatre round

Perhaps the best known of the manuscripts is The Cornish Ordinalia, a trilogy of plays telling the story of Christian salvation. It contains what may be the world’s earliest stage diagrams (pictured) and is also the oldest complete text in the Cornish language. Dating from the mid-1400s, it is an epic drama featuring bawdy comedy, gruesome violence and lots more in between. Image courtesy of the Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford.
