We offer a wide range of events and activities for everyone to enjoy, such as group visits, talks and workshops, as well as an active volunteer programme. All public events and activities can be viewed on our What’s On page.
Group visits are now available to book and typically consist of a behind-the-scenes tour of Kresen Kernow (including our secure strongrooms, home to 14 miles of shelving and 850 years of Cornwall’s history), as well as a chance to browse our exhibitions and see a selection of documents of interest to your group. Group visits are available for groups of 10-25 people and cost £50, payable in advance. We are able to arrange group visits most days that we are open, and offer morning (10am-12 noon) and afternoon (2-4pm) slots. We can also sometimes accommodate group visits in the early evening. Demand is high for these visits, and we usually ask for at least three months’ notice. We also offer visits for school, college and university students, as well as young people outside of school.
Staff members from Kresen Kernow are able to come and give talks at a venue of your choice on a variety of topics, for a fee. Our talks programme is currently under review, but please do complete our booking enquiry form if you are interested in booking a member of our team as a speaker. Please note that we usually ask for at least three months’ notice for external talks.
We also host public talks at Kresen Kernow and these are advertised on our What’s On page.
We offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities and placements, both long and short term. Volunteers can take part in a variety of tasks, including cleaning historic documents, scanning glass negatives, cataloguing letters and much more. You can find out more by visiting our Volunteering pages.
We offer a wide range of other events and activities, which are publicised through our What’s On page. We are also open to project and partnership work. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any ideas or suggestions for projects and partnerships.
