We offer a range of events and activities for everyone to enjoy, such as group visits, talks and workshops, as well as an active volunteer programme. All public events and activities can be viewed on our What’s On page.
Group visits usually consist of a behind-the-scenes tour of Kresen Kernow (including our secure strongrooms, home to 14 miles of shelving and 850 years of Cornwall’s history), as well as a chance to browse our exhibitions and see a selection of documents of interest to your group. Group visits are for groups of 10-25 people and cost £50, payable in advance. They take place on days that we are open, usually Tuesdays-Thursdays, in a morning (10am-12 noon) or afternoon (2-4pm) slot. Demand is high for these visits and we usually ask for at least six months’ notice, however, we are already very busy for 2022 and are now booking dates for 2023. We also offer visits for school, college and university students, as well as young people outside of school.
Staff members from Kresen Kernow may be able to give a talk at your venue or via an online platform, for a fee. Our talks programme is currently under review, but please do complete our booking enquiry form if you are interested in booking a member of our team as a speaker. Please note that we usually ask for at least three months’ notice for external talks.

We offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities and placements, both long and short term. Volunteers can take part in a variety of tasks, including cleaning historic documents, scanning glass negatives, cataloguing letters and much more. You can find out more by visiting our Volunteering pages.
